Sea Change Corporation Announces Sale of WebClarity Software Inc.

Concord, Ontario - August 1, 2004 – Sea Change Corporation today announced that it concluded an agreement to transfer ownership of WebClarity Software Inc. to the shareholders of Convergent Library Technologies Inc. ( www.clibtech.com ). Effective immediately, Phillip A. Smith will assume the role of President & CEO of WebClarity.

Richard Earle, CEO of Sea Change commented, “WebClarity had a target market that was not synergistic with Sea Change's other business units. We felt WebClarity's customers would be better served by a new owner who was entirely focused on the library and researcher market.”

Phil has many years of experience in the library automation market including roles with Geac Computers, most recently as their Regional General Manager and Global Channel Manager.  "WebClarity's BookWhere and BookWhere Online products are amazing tools for librarians and researchers. Our products have long been known for their rich functionality and sophisticated use of standards wrapped up in the simplest possible interface to deliver seamless cross-database access to the world's best qualified resources.   I am pleased to announce that Allison Standen has joined us as our new VP, Business Development, and that we plan to swiftly augment our development staff to ensure we bring product enhancements to market faster. "

Further, Mr. Smith states, “Convergent Library Technologies believes strongly in ensuring our library customers receive the optimum choice that dis-integration through use of industry standards can provide. No longer do all components need to be delivered through the ILS. With the current suite of standards, customers have choices that enable them to select the best applications to address specific issues, with the security of knowing they will work in concert with their ILS. The WebClarity software is just such an offering, having leveraged the z39.50 standard - it works well with all the major ILS systems.”
