According to research company eMarketer, digital video advertising saw huge growth in 2018, and is on track to increase by almost 30 percent to a total of $27.8 billion this year, with social media video advertising making up 25 percent of all digital ad spending in the U.S.

Social media sites are now considered the largest video platforms, and with all of the data available to them, advertising can be more personalized than ever before. With the continued integration of AI tools, video ads will become less disruptive and more in line with viewer preferences, interests, and viewing history.
