A large percentage of TV subscribers continue to pay ever-increasing cable fees mainly to access live sports, news, and local events — not realizing that several OTT platforms offer live broadcast channels as a part of their packages. Nearly half of current cable subscribers today are just waiting for a good reason to make the shift, so this begs the question: What must streaming services do to inform and capture these potential cord-cutting customers? Providers need to get the message out about live/local sports and news coverage. This is a great opportunity.
